The fun is over and the heat is on. All team have now completely moved to the location of this year‘s Dakar Rally. The last group departed for Argentina on New Year’s Day afternoon. The toughest and the most renowned distance rally is about to start this upcoming weekend.
The machines have fallen silent and our technology centre is completely quiet now. The Dakar Rally is going to make the upcoming January extremely demanding, and so the end of the year has been reserved for some relax and recovery. This Christmas is truly going to be holidays of peace and quiet for us.
All packed and ready, the technology is on its way to Dakar! Past few weeks have been extremely hectic. Our Dakar specials are in the centre of attention and everyone has bid them farewell. About a thousand people came to see off the Mammoet Rallysport trucks in the Netherlands at the weekend. On Tuesday the Tatras of the Bonver Dakar Project are about to embark on the voyage as well. All technology is due to board at the French Le Havre port on Thursday for more than a month-long voyage to Argentina, where the famous Dakar Rally starts in January.
Our programme before leaving for the Dakar Rally is incredibly full. We are going to set off to the famous race in less than two weeks but before then there are still many things to do, including gala presentations in several countries. In addition, there is the final testing to undergo. Afterwards, we are going to ship all the necessary technology at the Le Havre port in France and sail to Argentina.
This year’s truckracing season has finished. While the last round of the European truckracing championship took place in the midst of October, the British Championships only came to its end in November. Last weekend Mat Summerfield celebrated victory and Chris Levett, pilotting a truck built in our technology centre, reached silver medal.
An alliance that will give you the creeps! The foremost Czech motorsport teams have joined forces. Bonver Dakar Project and MKR Technology together with the Dutch Mammoet Rallysport have established a three-party coalition. The goal is crystal-clear – conquer the famous Dakar Rally.
The fight is over! This year’s European Truckracing Championship has finished. After three years Germany’s Jochen Hahn had to yield the throne to Norbert Kiss from Hungary. The Portuguese pilots José Rodrigues and José Teodosio, taming trucks constructed in our workshop, finished behind the elite ten by only a narrow margin.
In the past few years we repeatedly succeeded in reaching the highest ranks of the European Truck Racing Championship series. In addition to that, we also managed to win the prestigious Constructers‘ Trophy twice in four years. Our newest goal is to make a breakthrough into the world of long-distance rallies. Our team developed a brand new racing special exclusively for the legendary Dakar Rally and our ambitions for the most respectable long-distance race on the globe are high. The unique project has been labelled MKR Adventure.
There won’t be a five-year anniversary to celebrate for our team. Yet the project brought to life by the German constructor Mario Kress made its mark in the history of truckracing during the four years of its existence. Each year on the starting grid brought something new and unforgettable.
Last testing session, last drives, the last chance to enjoy a ride. At least for this year. The traditional autumn testing was our way to say goodbye both to the past season and our four-year presence at the circuits within the European Truckracing Championship. As a result, the invitation was accepted by a number of guests and pilots.
