Our Schedule Before the Dakar is Getting Jam-Packed

11.11.2014

Our Schedule Before the Dakar is Getting Jam-Packed Our programme before leaving for the Dakar Rally is incredibly full. We are going to set off to the famous race in less than two weeks but before then there are still many things to do, including gala presentations in several countries. In addition, there is the final testing to undergo. Afterwards, we are going to ship all the necessary technology at the Le Havre port in France and sail to Argentina.

This weekend both the trucks we constructed for the Dutch Mammoet Rallysport team will be presented in the Netherlands. An opening similar to the one that the crews and spectators will enjoy at the festive prologue in Buenos Aires in January has been prepared for the Netherlands, where the Dakar Rally is extremely popular. The RTL GP Dakar Pre-Prologue event will introduce Dutch participants across all categories of the upcoming year. Audience at the Eurocircuit Valkenswaard circuit will get the chance to see not only motorbikes, quads and buggies, but also racing trucks. Our pilots of the Mammoet Rallysport Martin van den Brink and Pascal de Baar will be joined by Gerard de Rooy this time, who was fighting for first place last year but eventually reached for silver medal.

Immediately after the weekend our two trucks will be moving to France. During next week we will set up a final testing session in Fontjoncouse in the south of France, only to return to the Netherlands for the following weekend, as there is a grand presentation prepared of our MKR Adventure and Mammoet Rallysport project. Our schedule includes not only a press conference, but also a festive goodbye. “We’ve had, and are still going to have, some pretty tough days and nights, when the entire team often stays up. Compared with preparations for the Dakar, getting ready for circuit truck championships was a breeze. Mainly from the logistics point of view these races can hardly be compared, but I’m happy that we’ve been able to deal with everything really great so far and I believe we’ll tackle any problems that may arise,“ commented our team’s executive manager Klára Kress.

On 20 November we will finally board a ferry sailing from the French Le Havre port to Argentina together with all our technology and other crews. After several weeks we are going to pick up our shipment and move it to Buenos Aires, where the 37th year of the world’s most famous distance rally is about to start on 4 January. It will be our pleasure to participate in it both with the Mammoet Rallysport trucks and in alliance with the Czech Bonver Dakar Project. We will join forces to win the much desired Bedouin prize. „The decisive aspect at the Dakar is a necessary portion of luck. In terms of technology, we are 100%  ready and thanks to the alliance our chances of success have multiplied. Anyhow, the race will be very long and extremely hard,“ added our team’s boss Mario Kress.
